Quick Chocolate Bread (Chocolate Loaf Cake)

  • Oven


  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • ½ cup Unsweetened cocoa
  • 2 nos Large eggs
  • ¾ cup Milk
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • ¼ cup Walnut
  • ½ cup Brown sugar
  • ¼ cup White granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt


  • Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease and place a parchment paper on a loaf tin.
  • Sift the cocoa, flour, brown and white sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt into a large bowl. Mix well and then set aside.
  • In a separate bowl whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter and vanilla and mix well.
  • Make a dimple in the center of the dry ingredients and add the mixture in step 3 above. Fold and combine with a spatula.
  • Add few chopped walnuts.
  • Tip the batter into the greased loan tin, level the top and scatter over some rolled oats and walnuts.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with just a crumb or two.
  • Serve and enjoy with some whipped cream and strawberries!
