Homemade Custard Apple (Sitaphal) Ice-cream is here..!!
We’ve never been able to forget this ice-cream from Naturals (India). The taste lingers and makes you nostalgic especially when you’re away from the country. I tried to prepare a similar version at home. We couldn’t find Indian Custard-Apples but managed to find ones from Thailand.
I have prepared this creamy ice cream with a lot of excitement and I’m quite proud that it tastes similar
Homemade Custard Apple (Sitaphal) Ice-cream
Ingredients
- 2 cups Milk chilled
- ¾ cup Fresh cream
- ⅓ cup Powdered sugar
- 1 cup Custard Apple / (Sitaphal) pulp
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk and combine chilled milk, fresh cream, and powdered sugar till it forms a fluffy, soft peak.
- Add Custard Apple / Sitaphal pulp to it and mix it.
- Transfer the mixture into an airtight container and place it in the freezer for 5-6 hours.
- Soft, creamy, and delicious homemade Custard Apple Ice-cream is ready. Enjoy with friends and family..!
Notes
Note: The most intensive part of this process is actually de-seeding the custard apple fruit and extracting the pulp out of it. This might just test your patience. Make sure you keep a clean area while de-seeding and have clean hands. This, of course, is for those like me who have used the fresh fruit and not a processed pulp.
